World Water Day – 22nd March 2018

The awareness program on water organized on 22ND March 2018 - the World Water Day at the National Film Archive of India’s auditorium (NFAI), Pune was as a grand success. The program aimed at building awareness about the importance of water, and its proper usage was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life.

A THIRSTY WORLD, a film made by none other than Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the world-renowned photographer was screened.  In this film, the famous photographer is looking at one of the major challenges to human survival: WATER.

The film - A THIRSTY WORLD attempts to bring together Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s trademark aerial view of the world with the harsh, everyday reality of all those people who are deprived of water and may even die for lack of it, the people engaged in the daily struggle to find water, purify it or bring it to those who need it. 

The program was organized under the ‘Geoscience for All’, initiative, a movement geared towards increasing awareness, understanding, appreciation and application of Earth Sciences and its importance in an individual’s day to day life and the communities at large.
