Little did we imagine when we announced the postponement of Jal Katha 2020, that COVID 19 will have such a large negative impact on human life and disrupt normal life for ever.
In retrospect, we believe that our decision to present an online version of the film festival – online screening of the selected films from the competitive section – for everyone to watch in the comfort of their homes was indeed a good decision.
‘Jal Katha 2020 – Stories of Water’, the second edition of our international film festival of short films received a tremendous response. More than 65 entries were received. Of these 14 films were selected based primarily on their relevance to the theme of Water. As you all are aware, the objective of the film festival is to raise awareness of water problem around the world.
Almost all the films have been made by amateurs and attempt to highlight the impending stark reality where the availability of potable water will increasingly becoming a problem.
